About Longnor Heritage Interiors

Longnor Heritage Interiors helps homeowners repair, restore and adapt historic houses across Staffordshire and the West Midlands. We bring together traditional craftsmanship and practical construction experience to create comfortable, welcoming interiors that respect the building and reflect the people who live there.

Rooted in Longnor Hall

We are based at historic Longnor Hall in Staffordshire, where we have a mission to restore this special building to its former glory and secure its future.

The Hall gives our work a personal foundation. We face the same questions as other historic homeowners: what to preserve, what to change, and how to make improvements that will stand the test of time.

We rely on the same skills, materials and care for our own restoration that we bring to yours. Our belief in good craftsmanship begins at home.

Like you, we want the best for the building in our care.

Repair, Don't Replace

Our first question is always: what can we keep?

Original joinery, floors, plasterwork and fittings connect a home to its past. Wherever practical, we repair and reuse them, preserving their character and avoiding unnecessary waste.

When new work is needed, we favour durable materials and construction methods that allow it to be maintained and repaired. We value well-made things that improve with care and age, and straightforward solutions that future craftspeople can understand.

For us, sustainability means looking beyond the finished project. We aim to do work that will serve the next hundred years—and leave future generations able to care for it in turn.

Making Room for the Way You Live

Respecting an old house does not mean leaving it unchanged. Thoughtful alterations can make it more comfortable, useful and enjoyable while retaining the qualities that make it special.

You might want a kitchen with space for family and friends, a bathroom that feels at home in the building, restored joinery, or a layout that makes better use of the rooms you already have.

We begin by listening: how you live, what you love about your home and what could work better. From there, we help you explore practical changes that feel right for both you and the house.

The aim is a home you can settle into and enjoy, with room for the next chapter of its life.

Care in Every Detail

The success of an interior is often found in the details: the fit of a door, the feel of a handrail, the finish of a wall or the way new joinery meets an old floor.

We bring care to these decisions because they shape how a home feels every day. Traditional materials and skilled workmanship help new work sit comfortably alongside the old, creating rooms that feel considered and welcoming.

Confidence Along the Way

Making changes to a historic home can feel daunting, especially when it is listed. You may be unsure what is possible, which permissions are needed or where to begin.

We explain the options clearly and identify where specialist advice or consent is required. Working alongside you or your architect, designer and other advisers, we connect your plans with the practical work needed to deliver them.

If the building reveals something unexpected, we discuss what we have found and agree the next steps with you. Clear communication and respect for your home are central to how we work.

Local Knowledge, Close Involvement

We work across Staffordshire and the West Midlands, including the Black Country, Lichfield, Wolverhampton and the Cannock Chase area.

Keeping our work local allows us to stay closely involved throughout each project. It also brings a practical understanding of the buildings, materials and architectural traditions that give the region its character.
